I understand completely, but should be fine. My son was born, a little later. He was 9 pounds 5 ounces, I have had a Caesarean section, but here, happy, healthy, and I my body!
If you are this miserable, maybe you should consider, as a gynecologist? Midwives are important, but not for more complex situations in layers. An OB will most probably recommend, possibly a Caesarean section because the baby is so big (especially when) such a small scale.
If I were you I would do so as soon as possible. They are more tired and less able to cope with the birth, the longer you wait.
